dell recommends keeping your systemsetup, or bios, up-to-date. we will go through a few simplesteps to do this. before you start check the currentversion of the system setup. you can check this either from thesystem setup or in the msinfo32 utility. to check using the system setup, power on your computer and tap the f2 at the dell splash screen. you'll find the version next to the bios revision. to check the setup version from within windows
go to the start screen and type msinfo32 click msinfo32 and the system informationwindow will open. you can find the senate version next tobios version/date. to download the latest versionof system setup visit dell.com/support under enter your service tag, type yoursystem service tag and click submit. if you don't have your system servicetag handy you can click detect my product review dell's productsupport terms and conditions page then click yes i agree.
then click install. dell system detect will nowinstall and locate your service tag. when it completes you'll berouted to your computer's product support page. click the get drivers tab on theleft. click 'view all drivers' to see the list ofdrivers and applications available for your system select the category dropdown and choosebios. click download file and save the file onyour desktop. ensure you do not power of yoursystem during the update as this may make the systemnon-functional
if you're running the update on a portable ensure that the ac adapter is connectedto the wall outlet save and close all applications, then double click the file you downloaded on the desktop. follow the on-screen instructionsto complete the system setup update. your system will automatically restart,run the update and then boot back to windows. to confirm the update go to the systemsetup or msinfo32 utility. thank you for watching
