hi i’m peg from sony and i’m here to showyou how to troubleshoot your sony walkman that is not functioning properly appears tobe frozen or does not turn on or off each walkman is slightly different so be sureto check the owner’s manual or visit us at esupport.sony.com for your specific featuresand menu options so let's get sarted first turn on the walkman by pressing theplay button if the word hold flashes in yellow at thetop of the screen locate the hold button on the right edge of the device and slide itto turn it off if your walkman is not on hold and it stillwill not respond we recommend that you charge

it plug your walkman into a usb port on yourcomputer sometimes when the battery is completely dischargedit can take up to five minutes for it to respond to the computer make sure your computer does not go into sleepor into hibernate mode allow approximately five minutes for the walkmanto receive a base charge the battery icon should be active as the walkmancharges when it is fully charged the status will changeto full if you walkman has a charge and is still notoperating correctly or is not recognized by

the computer you can try a few more tricks make sure you are not using a usb hub try a different usb port or you can also try a different usb cord if none of these options corrects the situationyou can try a reset a soft reset procedure will close all openor running applications and services and then restart the walkman no data is erased and no applications areremoved
