squaresoft,squaresoft. yes, squaresoft. a name thatstays in our mind. some games that willremain engraved in our memory. the memory of the lucky oneswho discovered these nice games. it was what i consider as thegolden age of rpgs in 16 or 32 bits. wait, not all 16 and 32 bit consoles.let's call a spade a spade... it was on super nintendo - super famicomfor the purists - and on playstation. of course there were nice rpgson saturn and genesis in 32 and 16 bits. or on pc engine, if you wantto mention high-class games.

or rather gamesthat no-one knows! but the games back thenwere clearly crazy stuff! something was happening between the ost,the graphics and the gameplay. it wascrazy stuff! today the magic has disappeared.you can hear this everywhere. i think that current rpgsare missing something. i don't know what. perhaps wegot older... perhaps we should ask 12-13 year-oldplayers what they think of current rpgs. but for me,something is missing.

these aren't bad games, butit's not the same as before. now i keep quiet because the openingscene of seiken densetsu 3 is coming! also known assecret of mana 2. i let you listen becauseit's just fabulous! wonderful!really wonderful! it ends with a remix of thesecret of mana theme, you recognized it. thusseiken densetsu 2. it's a nice remix. one of thegreatest tracks in the game. the ost is, of course,extraordinary, prodigious.

this game was the game we expectedthe most. and i wasn't the only one! most of the gamers who had playedsecret of mana and were fond of rpgs... back then, the rpg wasthe game genre i most liked. in '95 i already had played secret of mana,secret of evermore, illusion of time. on genesis, landstalker and legendof thor. but these are action/rpgs. but had i playedchrono trigger? yes i had already played it!this game was released in late '95. chrono trigger was already released.i had already played its us version. that just shows how i was expectingthis game. i was crazy about it!

but we knew nothing...squaresoft never communicated anything. nobody knew if this game wouldbe released in the us or in europe! we didn't know.we had high expectations! i remember each monthduring one year until late '96... ...i was buying console+, joypadand player one. these 3 ones. also console news, all in '96.and maybe 2 more, i don't know. it cost a lot,frf 30 [=$5.60] per issue! all my allowance was thrown forthese magazines! it was expensive! they were beautiful, with glossy paperbut they were really expensive!

squaresoft didn't care of europe.and they still don't nowadays! it makes me laugh to readon magazines things like... "squaresoft"... i mean"square enix cares about europe!" it's real bullshit.it's just a marketing gimmick! they don't care of whowe are! they shit on us! anyway... all that to say that i didn'tdiscover this game when it was released. like many of us, i onlydiscovered it in emulation. i downloaded the first patch.i was following this. it was something likein 2000 or 2002.

once again, the translation wasmade by 'terminus traduction'. we must thank and applause them...we must also support and congratulate them. the work done here is wonderful. the game has beentranslated into french. that's nice! even wheni talk to the villagers. the patch you'rewatching is the latest patch. the latest release datesback to a few years i think... ...everything wastranslated in full details! even the title screenwas changed! you saw it.
